Companies Change Procurement Strategy

Chip crisis, logistics problems – the German economy has been faced with major procurement problems in recent years. As a result, the vast majority of companies have taken measures to strengthen their own supply chains. This is the result of a survey of 4,000 companies conducted by the ifo Institute. 68 percent of industrial companies would increase their inventories, 65 percent would diversify their supply chains, it adds. The reactions to the logistics problems differ depending on the size of the company, with large companies taking significantly more measures than small or medium-sized companies. The latter in particular would rely on increased warehousing.
