Rare earth exports from China fell slightly in November, as reported by the news agency Reuters. Exports were two percent lower than in October, but compared to the same month last year, there was a significant increase of 42.6 percent.
Overall, the data from the People’s Republic shows a mixed picture of economic development following the coronavirus pandemic. While exports generally increased slightly, imports fell unexpectedly. Bloomberg (paywall) writes that two economic policy meetings, which could possibly be convened this month, should provide clues as to how the government under President Xi Jinping intends to get the economy back on track.
