Swedish state-owned mining company LKAB reported the discovery of a large rare earth deposit in January this year, and exactly six months later the company is now providing an update on the Per Geijer deposit. At over 1.3 million tons, the amount of rare earths present there has been revised upward by 25 percent.

The UAE-government-owned renewable energy company Masdar has along with two renewable development firms signed an agreement with Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority to secure land to build a 10-gigawatt capacity onshore wind farm in Egypt. The project is set to aid the northeast African country to reach its goal of achieving 42 percent of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030.
The Biden-Harris Administration yesterday released the U.S. National Clean Hydrogen Strategy and Roadmap, aiming to produce 50 million metric tons of clean hydrogen fuel by 2050. The program is expected to add up to 100,000 jobs to the growing domestic hydrogen economy by 2030.
