China exported 4,000 tons of rare earths in August

According to data from the General Administration of Customs, exports of rare earths fell by 0.5% in August compared to the previous month, Reuters reports. 3,936 tons of the strategic raw materials, which are needed for electric motors and semiconductors, among others, were exported in August. Compared to the same month last year, there was an increase of 140 percent. At that time, due to the Corona pandemic, demand had declined and only recovered at the end of the year.
