Chinese exports of rare earth magnets declined slightly in July, according to the latest data from the country’s customs authorities. A total of 5,375 tons were exported, down from 5,649 tons in June. This represents a decrease of around 4.8 percent. Despite the decline, export volumes remained well above the 4,730 tons recorded in May.
Only minor changes occurred among the main destinations. Germany remained the largest recipient in July, followed by the US, South Korea, Vietnam and India. The same five countries therefore made up the top group as in June; only the US and South Korea switched positions.
